Sony just unveiled the NEX 5R, the world’s first SLD with WiFi capabilities. This 16 megapixels interchangeable lens camera uses the Sony E-Mount with short flange distance, letting it be one of the slimmest ILCs on the market. It uses a Sony Exmor CMOS sensor with an ISO range of 100 to 25,600 and 10 FPS continuous shooting as well as full 1080p HD video capture at 60 FPS.
The 5R was refined to distinguish itself from the lower-end NEX 3 series with the addition of a second control-dial which not matching the 3 control-dials of the NEX-7. It also gains a customizable function button for more efficient use. The Sony NEX 5R is scheduled to ship next month for $650 USD and can already be pre-ordered here.
