The ground-breaking Sony Alpha SLT-A55 was just reviewed at Neocamera. This is the flagship of two cameras with a translucent mirror which Sony launched last year. These cameras feature interchangeable lenses in a relatively compact body with the ability to continuously autofocus during video recording. They both capture video at 1080p with stereo sound, either internally or using an external audio source.
The SLT-A55 particularly features a 16 megapixels sensor and a whopping 10 FPS continuous drive. The translucent mirror also lets use focus at up to 10 FPS. The tested variant of the A55, called A55V, also includes a GPS which automatically geotags photos with position, altitude and orientation.
Read the detailed review to find out how it performs and how using it compares to other types of digital cameras.
