Just this minute is the worldwide launch the the new Olympus Tough TG-820 iHS. The is their toughest camera to date and, this time, built around a new high-speed 12 megapixels BSI-CMOS sensor. The TG-820 is completely waterproof to depths of 10m (33′), shockproof to drops of 2m (6.6′), freezeproof to -10C (14F), crushproof to weights of 100kg (220 lbs) and – needless to say – completely dustproof and weatherproof.

This tough camera is equipped with a stabilized 5X wide-angle optical zoom lens and a 3″ Hyper-Crystal II LCD with one megapixels (1030K dots) with a scratch-resistant anti-reflective coating. Its high-speed CMOS sensor lets it capture full 1080p HD video which it can also playback through and HDMI Control link.

The Olympus Tough TG-820 iHS is scheduled to be available in March for $299.
