Olympus just revealed a refreshed version of its 75-300mm for Micro Four-Thirds mount. The new M.Zuiko 75-300mm F/4.8-6.7 ED II remains equivalent to a 150-600mm lens on a full-frame camera while being incredibly light and compact. This telephoto zoom lens weighs 423g and measures less than 12cm long with a diameter under 7cm .
Olympus has redesigned the lens to match its Micro Four Thirds cameras and added a new advanced ZERO coating to keep scratches off while eliminating ghosting and lens flare even under bright light. An ED glass element keeps the length short and chromatic aberrations low.
Like the original 75-300mm Micro Four-Thirds lens, the revised version retains a large mechanical zoom ring and fly-by-wire focus ring. This new lens includes a nearly-silent Movie and Still Compatible (MSC) focusing system to avoid adding sound to the audio track while recording video.
The Olympus M.Zuiko 75-300mm F/4-6.7 II ED is expected to be available in March, 2013 for an estimated price of $549 USD.
