Nikon unveiled its latest telephoto lens along with the 1 V2 today. The new AF-S 70-200mm F/4G ED VR lens is a light-weight alternative to the well-regarded AF-S 70-200mm F/2.8G ED VR II. This one features a third-generation image stabilization mechanism which is said to compensate for up to 5 stops compared to hand-holding.
This FX lens is compatible with all current full-frame and cropped-sensor Nikon DSLR. On a DX camera, it is equivalent to a 105-300mm lens.
The AF-S 70-200mm F/4G ED VR is expected to arrive next month for a retail price of $1399 USD or $1449 CDN.
