Nikon updated their original bright lens compact with their new 16 megapixels BSI-CMOS sensor. The new Nikon Coolpix P310 features an ultra-bright F/1.8 lens equivalent to 24-100mm and full manual controls. This is an advanced ultra-compact based on the P300 reviewed here. The P310 can also shoot full 1080p HD video and 16 megapixels images continuously at 7 FPS thanks to its high-speed sensor.
The bright lens is an excellent asset for a small sensor camera like this one. With a maximum aperture of F/1.8, the P310 can shoot at an ISO at least one full-stop lower than most small cameras. The new CMOS sensor promises exceptional low-light performance, which will be helped further by the bright lens and Nikon’s sophisticated Vibration Reduction technology.
The Nikon Coolpix P310 ships this month for $329 USD in the USA and next months for $349 in Canada.
