2012 is coming to an end. It has been an exciting year for digital cameras with lots of innovations which saw the introduction of truly different products offering new compromises to buyers. This made us rewrite out Demystifying Digital Camera Types article, Digital Camera Buying Guide and DSLR Buying Guide.

All the while, we published more in-depth reviews than ever before, from point-and-shoot model to top of the line professional DSLRs. A great year it was, and we will return the first week of January to bring you news from CES 2013. More exciting products are coming soon!

The numbers for December are not in yet but we had a great November with one visitor short of a quarter million, making it our biggest month this year. Neocamera is made possible by you! Each time you buy from our sponsors, it does not cost you a cent more than you would pay otherwise, but it lets us continue to bring you great content and service.

As digital cameras increase in resolution, our servers get stressed more, delivering those full-resolution image galleries. We moved to more powerful – and costly – servers this year and heavily optimized the performance in order to achieve a score of 92% on Google Page Speed, making it one of the fastest websites around.

More features and performance tuning is scheduled for 2013, so please upgrade to an HTML 5 browser if you can. Working on the leading edge makes it easier to develop cool features that work across browsers. We strongly recommend Google Chrome if it is available for your platform.

All this to say Happy Holidays, thank you all for coming and stay tuned, CES 2013 is just around the corner. If you like our content, don’t forget to tell your friends and family. We do not advertise and rely 100% on word-of-mouth for our visitors.
