As previously announced, Fuji unveiled the latest X-mount lens for its mirrorless system. The new XF 23mm F/1.4R is an ultra-bright moderate angle lens, equivalent to 35mm on a film camera. This is incidentally, the exact same focal-length as the Fuji X100S just reviewed here, expect one full stop brighter.
The lens features a sturdy metal exterior and mechanical aperture-ring plus a wide focus-ring for precise control. The aperture is made of 7 rounded blades for producing smooth out-of-focus backgrounds.
The Fujinon XF23mm F/1.4R is scheduled to ship next month for $899 USD or CDN.
This leaves two more lenses to appear from the 2013 roadmap, a high-end 10-24mm F/R and low-cost 50-230mm F/4.5-6.7 long zoom. Both these will feature image-stabilization. Al that is known beyond is that Fuji is also planning for a 56mm F/1.2 lens which would be the brightest X-mount lens.
