For the CP+ Show, Canon unveiled three additions to its Powershot series of compact and ultra-compacts:
The Canon Powershot A2500 is basic compact with a 16 megapixels CCD sensor and wide-angle 5X optical zoom lens. It features a 2.7″ LCD with low 230K pixels resolution. This fully point-and-shoot model is scheduled to appear in March for $129 USD.
The Canon Powershot ELPH 115 IS is an ultra-compact also with a 16 CCD. This time is paired with an ultra-wide 8X optical zoom lens with image stabilization. This one has the same LCD as the A2500 and is fully automatic as well. It is expected to arrive in March for $169 USD.
The Canon Powershot ELPH 330 HS is an ultra-compact based on a high-sensitivity 12 megapixels CMOS sensor paired with a stabilized 10X ultra-wide optical zoom lens. This time there is a 3″ LCD with twice the resolution. The CMOS sensor lets it capture full 1080p HD video. Canon has included built-in WiFi to follow current trends. It is expected for $229 USD in March.
